Sunday, April 20 - AWANA camp registration is underway on AWANA Friday night, as well as, after the 7:30 a.m. & 11:15 a.m. worship services. The fee for each camper is $90 and the deadline to pay in full is June 9. This year’s AWANA Camp will be held from Thursday, June 29 through Saturday, June 21 at Refreshing Mountain Camp, Lancaster, PA for all youth who are currently in Kindergarten to 6th grade. Monday, April 21 - Women's Day Kick-Off meeting: The 2014 Women’s Day Committee wants you! Please meet us in the Lower Wyatt Annex to discuss the Women’s Day Activities on Monday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. If you want to serve as a member on any of a number of subcommittees for Women’s Day activities, meet us on Monday!

Saturday, April 26 - Attention "All Believers" - The Evangelism Ministry will be "Sharing Their Faith and God's Grace" in our communities on Saturday, April 26. This cloud of witnesses will gather under the Breezeway at 9:30am for corporate prayer and distribution of Bibles & tracts. Come join us and let’s take back our communities for Christ.

The Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Angela Y. Love (specializing in Internal Medicine and Allergy & Immunology). Sisters, come out, bring your questions, and get healthier.
Friday, May 2 - The Sunday School Fellowship will be held at Friendship Baptist Church,900 Delaware Avenue, SW on Friday, MAY 2. Dinner will be served at 6:30p.m. and a van will be leaving FBCHP at 6:00 p.m. You may sign up in the Church Office.
Saturday, May 3 - Calling All Bowlers:  The Faith Forward Soul Winners Mixed Trio Summer Bowling League Is Looking For Members. If you are looking to have some fun and/or just want to have some good “ole fashioned” fellowship, come on out! Saturday, May 3. We will have our organization meeting from 11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at AMF Capital Plaza Bowling Center, 4601 Cooper Lane, Hyattsville MD 20784. The league starts on May 10, and ends on Saturday, August 2 from 11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each Saturday for twelve weeks. Interested persons may sign up in the Fellowship Hall after each morning service. Thursday, May 22 - The Seasoned Saints Center will be sponsoring a trip to the "Amish Experience Tour" which includes shopping and lunch on Thursday, May 22 for our Seniors. The cost is $45.00 and there are only a limited number of seats available. The chartered coach bus will leave FBCHP AT 7:00 am. Interested seniors may sign up in the Senior Center on Mondays -Thursdays from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm or contact the Church Office/301-773-6655.
Sunday, May 25 - The 2014 Women's Day Committee will kick off the Women's Day Season with a mini-concert featuring our own FBCHP Women of Praise, along with special guests on May 25 at 6:00 p.m. If you are a member of the Women of Praise Choir, please join Semora Smith, Director, for rehearsals. Saturday, August 2 - The Men's Ministry presents "Family Fishing 2014" on Saturday August 2!. The cost is $85 per person and is open to all. We will meet here at the church at 5:00 a.m. and depart via coach bus and arrive at the docks of the Delaware Bay by 7:30 a.m. We will then board the fishing vessels for a day of fishing. Rods, bait and dinner is included. We are limited to 100 seats on a “First come, First served” basis. Payments due by July 20. You may sign up after the 7:30 am & 11:15 am services.
Tuesday, August 12, 2014 - Calling All Artists:  The Women's Day Committee Is Looking For Intriguing Artwork For Exclusive Use Throughout The Women's Day Season Through Women's Day (August 12, 2014). This is a call for artwork of all kinds – photography, paintings, drawing, sculpture & new media around FBCHP Women’s Day Theme: She Is Not Heavy: She Is My Sister.”  Our scriptural reference is Galatians 6:1 & 26. Church will choose the artwork at an artist reception on May 24 – stay tuned for more information!!!

Tuesday, September 23 - The June Birthday Ministry is sponsoring a trip to see the play "Moses" in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, September 23.  The deluxe motor coach will leave FBCHP at 8:00 am and refreshments will be served.  The trip includes ticket to “Moses,” lunch, and shopping at outlet mall.  The cost is $125 per person and $50 will reserve your seat.   Contact Joanna Smith of the June Ministry.

Saturday, October 11 - Attention Healthcare Professionals!!!  We are in search of Healthcare professionals interested in being a part of the 2014 Annual Health Fair. The date this year is October 11, 2014. We need workshop/seminar leaders or persons to share their expertise in whatever way they chose to bless our church family. December 6 thru 13 - The March Ministry invites you to join us on a 7-night Hawaiian cruise, which will leave from Baltimore, MD. We board our ship in Honolulu and cruise to 4 islands. Car Wanted, No Car Needed.  Small car for work purpose is needed. Grand daughter moving in but can't move in until she gets a vehicle to get to work. The buses don't run in Upper Marlboro like in town. They don't run at all on Sundays.  And I will not be able to drive her.  Donations welcomed or reasonable priced vehicle.  Hoopty or little maintenance or repairs will be appreciated. It is with great excitement that we introduce the Park Community Development Corporation (CDC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Park CDC strives to provide community programs that will: 1) Provide affordable services to encourage and support economic and workforce development; 2) Provide training, educational and life skills assistance; and 3)Provide services that will enhance the quality of life for youth, young adults and seniors. In order to meet our mission and provide much needed services in our community, we rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses for support. Without your assistance, we are unable to reach those most in need. You are welcome to support The Park CDC’s efforts with an end of the year tax deductible contribution.  Please make checks payable to The Park Community Development Corporation. Dr. Carl Felton Sr. of the Outreach Ministry is looking for a volunteer to teach a class in Anger Management.  For further information and all of the particulars, please contact Dr. Felton.
The Tutorial Ministry is in need of High School Math Tutors (grades 9-12). The SHARE (Self Help and Resource Exchange).   Program is a food program for any person, family or group that desires to purchase a nutritious food package for about $20.00 a month.  The Share Program is NOT a subsidizes program.  There are no income restrictions.   Content of the food packages is varied each month.  The food is purchased from wholesalers. Each package contains at least enough for 4 meals for a family of4.  The food is picked up from the warehouse and transported to the church by volunteers and other volunteers package the food for purchasers to pick up at the church.  The monthly menu and order forms are available in the church office.  The menu can also be viewed on the Share Website http://www.sharedc.com/. To participate, simply fill out the order form and leave payment in the church office.  The form will have the pickup date on it.

FREE VASCULAR SCREENING – MedStar Health, in collaboration with DARE TO C.A.R.E., is offering free vascular screening at several locations in the Washington area. This examination involves a non-invasive and painless ultrasound of the arteries in the neck and the aorta in the abdomen as well as an evaluation of the circulation in the legs. PowerFit Ministry - Did you know that nearly one-third of all children and two-thirds of adults are either overweight or obese?  Allow the PowerFit Ministry to help you improve your fitness level and take better care of God's temple.  Free workout classes are in available on most Mondays and Fridays. THE PSALMS SINGLES MINISTRY will be sending care packages to college students. Please see a PSALMS MINISTRY OFFICER in the Fellowship Hall after the morning services to submit names and addresses for the students or to donate items for the packages. Names and addresses may also be submitted to psalmsministry@fbhp.org
The Volunteer Nursery Ministry child care and mini-worship service program is available in Room 129 of the Education Building for children ages 2-5 during the 11:15 a.m. worship service.   Adult and teen volunteers are needed.
Cleaning for a Reason - If you know any woman currently undergoing chemotherapy, please pass the word to her that there is a cleaning service that provides FREE housecleaning - once per month for 4 months while she is in treatment. All she has to do is sign up and have her doctor fax a note confirming the treatment. Cleaning for a Reason will have a participating maid service in her zip code area arrange for the service. This organization serves the entire USA and currently has 547 partners to help these women.  It's our job to pass the word and let them know that there are people out there that care. THE APRIL BIRTHDAY MINISTRY would like to invite all members born in April to attend our meetings on the 4th Saturdays of the month at 12:00 noon in the Library.
We are in need of 4 volunteers to help set up for Sunday morning refreshments from 6:00 am – 7:00 am. You will only have to serve one Sunday a month. If you are interested, please call the Church Office/301-773-6655.
